We are proud to offer the following thirteen courses. The Level I class needs to be taken first. The Level II classes can be taken in any order except the Clinical Practice Theory, and Clinical Internship must be taken last. Each course is unique, interesting, and elicits different skills from the student. Most classes can also be taken online. Ask for details. Workshops can be taken for elective credits and are also open to the public.

The introductory foundation course meets for 8 weeks, 4 ½ hours with 36 CEU credits. It has a wonderful rhythm to its 8 classes, balancing vital information with hands on experiences of blending, facials, and lymphatic massage oils. The class includes the book Aromatherapy A-Z by Patricia Davis, over 100 pages of handouts, a binder and all materials, and 25% off purchase of therapeutic grade essential oils. It consists of twelve classes built on the foundation Level One. Each class provides fascinating knowledge of it's subject matter. Classes are: Botany, History of Medicine, Advanced Chemistry, Clinical Science, Mind/Body, Anatomy and Physiology, Part One and Two, Energetic Healing, Communication and Business Skills, Reflexology, Clinical Theory, Clinical Internship and an Elderly Clinic where graduating students offer holistic health services to the general public. Graduation follows a final exam where a Certificate as an Essential Oil therapist (CEOT) is provided. Web Cam is available for most classes. CEUs are provided for all classes and workshops from the Ca. Nursing Assoc. and to Massage Therapists. Each hour equals one CEU. See Course offerings for more details.
In order to complete the 440–hour program, a student must acquire 15 elective credits (approximately 60 hours - as a general rule, each four hours of class or workshop attended equals one elective credit. The College offers at least three workshops a year by well known national and international teachers. All students are required to take Intro to Reflexology which will be offered on a weekend. Elective credits are also offered to students attending conferences of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA), and/or the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy (PIA). Workshops are also open to the public.
The 440-hour Aromatherapy Practitioner Certification Program includes the Level I Foundation Course (36 hours), twelve Level II classes (344 hours), and 15 elective credits (60 hours) from classes and/or workshops. Upon successful completion of the program with a grade C or better and a final exam both written and oral, students receive a professional Certificate of Completion. Students can add CEOT (Certified Essential Oil Therapist) after their name. COBHA is the only Essential Oil Therapy College in California that is certified by the California Bureau of Post Secondary and Vocational Education and is the only 440-hour certification Essential Oil Therapy program in the United States.
