Admissions Procedure and Entrance Requirements:

  1. All students must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  2. A student must submit a completed application and a nonrefundable deposit of $50.
  3. A student must schedule a personal or telephone interview with a school administrator.

Attendance:

Attendance is required at all classes. A student cannot miss more than 20% of a class. Registration for a class represents a commitment to organize one's life to be present and on time to every class. Class begins promptly at the scheduled hour.

Advance notification and plans for makeup must be arranged with the instructor for any absences. The instructor will provide options for making up work missed. Tests, assignments and class work missed must be made up according to the basic contract signed upon registration.

Withdrawal Procedure:

Students withdrawing from the program are asked to schedule an interview with a school administrator. A statement of withdrawal must be received by the school administration in writing. See refund policy.

Grading Policies:

The grading procedure For Level I is based upon a pass/fail system, with 70% considered the minimum passing grade. Level II classes are graded on a standard academic system, using letter grades A through F. The minimum passing grade for any course and for graduation is 75%. COBHA is dedicated to maintaining fair grading procedures.

Student records are confidential and kept permanently on file in COBHA's administrative office.

Requirements for Graduation:

  1. Completed all courses (390 hours) with passing grades, including completing all examinations and assignments.
  2. Complete a Clinical Internship.
  3. Complete a Red Cross Basic First Aid and adult CPR class.
  4. Pay all tuition and fees in full.
  5. Complete a three-hour written examination and a one-hour oral examination.

Conditions for Dismissal:

  1. Using essential oils or other botanical medicine without respect for safety information presented in class.
  2. Attending classes or functions at the college or clinic under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  3. Behavior that may be harmful to the learning environment or the reputation of the College (ie., discrimination based on race, creed, gender, or inappropriate language and/or conduct).
  4. Dishonesty or theft.
  5. Failure to uphold the requirements and policies of the College.

Re-Entrance Policy:

Students who need to withdraw from the program must do so in writing to the Board of Directors. Reinstatement is up to the discretion of the Board of Directors.
